Even though many indicate they are saved, their attitude, the things they do and say, and their unchildlikeness to correction indicates they are really reprobate.

The words, "Follow Me" appear in the New Testament about 19 times.

Lk 9:23–25–AND HE SAID TO THEM ALL, IF ANY MAN WILL COME AFTER ME (or we may say if any man desires to come to Jesus to be saved by faith), LET HIM (1) DENY HIMSELF (which includes repentance), (2) AND TAKE UP HIS CROSS DAILY, (3) AND FOLLOW ME. FOR WHOSOEVER WILL SAVE HIS LIFE SHALL LOSE IT: BUT WHOSOEVER WILL LOSE HIS LIFE FOR MY SAKE, THE SAME SHALL SAVE IT. FOR WHAT IS A MAN ADVANTAGED, IF HE GAIN THE WHOLE WORLD, AND LOSE HIMSELF, OR BE CAST AWAY? To loose one’s life is to totally and completely surrender it to Jesus in total trust–to deny oneself. It is to conform to Jesus in all things–attitude, words, and what one does and how they act. It can also mean to be martyred for Christ. Those few that do this shall indeed save their life for eternity. How few there are that have done this. How few there are that meet the following: Ps 50:5–GATHER MY SAINTS TOGETHER UNTO ME; THOSE THAT HAVE MADE A COVENANT WITH ME BY SACRIFICE. There is absolutely no profit or gain but only tragedy even if one gains the whole world, health, fame, notoriety, friends, family, and riches, but then afterwards spends eternity in the lake of fire.

Lk 9:59–62–AND HE SAID UNTO ANOTHER, FOLLOW ME. BUT HE SAID, LORD, SUFFER ME FIRST TO GO AND BURY MY FATHER. JESUS SAID UNTO HIM, LET THE DEAD BURY THEIR DEAD: BUT GO THOU AND PREACH THE KINGDOM OF GOD. AND ANOTHER ALSO SAID, LORD, I WILL FOLLOW THEE; BUT LET ME FIRST GO BID THEM FAREWELL, WHICH ARE AT HOME AT MY HOUSE. AND JESUS SAID UNTO HIM, NO MAN, HAVING PUT HIS HAND TO THE PLOUGH, AND LOOKING BACK, IS FIT FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD. No person being called of God to surrender, follow, and serve Him, is fit for the kingdom of God if they look back to this world. Remember Lot’s wife. You cannot serve and follow God and money. You cannot serve and follow God and the world also. The two are opposed to each other, so that a person that follows Jesus cannot any longer do and follow those ungodly things he once desired to do. It is written, Gal 5:17–FOR THE FLESH LUSTETH AGAINST THE SPIRIT, AND THE SPIRIT AGAINST THE FLESH: AND THESE ARE CONTRARY THE ONE TO THE OTHER: SO THAT YE CANNOT DO THE THINGS THAT YE WOULD.

Jn 10:27–MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE, AND I KNOW THEM, AND THEY FOLLOW ME. Those that repent, deny self, trust in and follow Jesus, they can hear God speaking to them. With hearing also comes correctly discerning God’s voice and correctly discerning the devils voice which seeks to mislead a person. These people do follow Jesus.

Lk 18:22–NOW WHEN JESUS HEARD THESE THINGS, HE SAID UNTO HIM, YET LACKEST THOU ONE THING: SELL ALL THAT THOU HAST, AND DISTRIBUTE UNTO THE POOR, AND THOU SHALT HAVE TREASURE IN HEAVEN: AND COME, FOLLOW ME.

Jn 12:26–IF ANY MAN SERVE ME, LET HIM FOLLOW ME; AND WHERE I AM, THERE SHALL ALSO MY SERVANT BE: IF ANY MAN SERVE ME, HIM WILL MY FATHER HONOUR. Regretfully, there are those that do what appears to be the works of God. They appear to serve God, yet they will not totally surrender themselves and follow Jesus. You shall know them by their fruits.

For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

It is not enough to say a sinners prayer.
It is not enough to get baptised by full immersion.
It is not enought to be faithful in church attendence.

Without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him-Heb 11:6.

How can you get saved? You need fairth, and faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God- ref Heb 10:16,17. We recommend you read your Bible every day faithfully—5 chapters a day. Begin with the Gospel of John and read it through three times. Next go to Matthew and read the New Testament through three times. Then begin reading the entire Bible in order, beginning with Genesis. As God opens up His Word to you, obey it.

ALSO

1. Admit that you are a sinner. The Bible tells us, ALL HAVE SINNED AND COME SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD. THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH.
2. Be willing to change, forsake all sin, humble yourself and live for Jesus—REPENT. God will help you. It is written, EXCEPT YE REPENT, YE SHALL ALL LIKEWISE PERISH. Jesus tells us, HE THAT IS NOT WITH ME IS AGAINST ME.
3. Believe in your heart Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten Son, Who came to this earth in the flesh, in human form. Believe He died for your sins. It is written, THERE IS NONE OTHER NAME UNDER HEAVEN GIVEN AMONG MEN, WHEREBY WE MUST BE SAVED.
4. Ask for forgiveness. Ask for God’s mercy. By faith, receive Jesus Christ as your only hope of salvation. I am going to ask you to make that decision for Jesus right now. Please kneel right where you are. God may be calling you. Don’t resist. The Bible tells us, THERE IS A WAY WHICH SEEMETH RIGHT UNTO A MAN, BUT THE END THEREOF ARE THE WAYS OF DEATH. It’s not a matter of if you think you know Jesus, but does Jesus know you? Right now, humble yourself, kneel and pray this prayer out loud and mean it.

DEAR JESUS, I AM A SINNER. I BELIEVE YOU ARE THE SON OF GOD AND DIED FOR MY SINS ON THE CROSS. FORGIVE ALL OF MY SINS. JESUS, I REPENT. HAVE MERCY ON ME, A SINNER AND COME INTO MY LIFE. HELP ME TO FOLLOW AND OBEY YOUR WORD (THE BIBLE). I ASK IT IN THE NAME OF MY LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST. AMEN.
